We were on our way from Eastern Washington to Seattle and made a quick stop in Ellensburg to see a friend and grab lunch. As we drove past the usual line of fast food into the downtown I wondered what we'd get on a Sunday afternoon. Turns out we had a really great lunch!
Morelli's - right on Main Streeet - is a small cafe with about 8 tables. They serve lunch, dinner and a bevy of sorbets which, unfortunately, we didn't sample once we'd thoroughly cleaned our plates. I ordered the Panini Milano consisting of tomatoes, basil and mozzarella on delightfully crunchy focaccia - yum. While the sandwich description sounds basic, there was just SOMETHING about the melty cheese and extra zip from the sauce...
My dining companions ordered a Ceasar (fresh romaine and fixin's) and the cheese ravioli. Everything, while seemingly ordinary was made with extraordinary care. Delish!
